Andy with a huge fish near 35lbs. See the trauma of the spawn on most of these fish. We were targeting big fish in warm reasonably shallow water which were there to spawn. Normally such large fish are only found in the river in deeper water.
We caught dozens of these fish rarely catching one below 25 lbs. The big fished spawned for two days and then they were headed back out into the depths and colder water to heal. This two day window of opportunity was the best fishing of my many years of carping. Why? Because each fish caught was a trophy. We have photos of all the fish, too many to post on this site.
